Last Night of the Proms - Wareham

Wareham Town band gave an excellent performance of their version of ‘Last night at the Proms’ at Lady St. Marys’ church, Wareham last week. The band played a variety of rousing music and when it came to Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory there was plenty of singing and flag waving from the audience writes community correspondent Krissi Morris. The band was conducted by Stuart Rogers and Nathaniel Roff.

This is the third fund raising performance by Wareham Town Band, events that are proving very popular. The chosen charity this time was Woofability, an organisation which undertakes the training of dogs to assist handicapped people.

Wareham Lions President Tim Lench handed a cheque to Andy Clarke of Woofability for £1,000. The money being raised from the cream tea event held in July by Wareham Lions together with the funds raised by the evenings’ performance by Wareham Town Band.  During the interval Wareham Lions served wine and soft drinks to a delighted audience.
